Domaine Lafage's Cote Sud is made from 80 percent Syrah and 20 percent Grenache. The wine is allowed to ferment and rest in steel tanks and never sees a glimpse of oak barrels, instead it is the fruit that is in focus. However, the Syrah grape means that there are sweet spices and peppery undertones in both taste and aroma.
